i am having a bloody night mare with my lap top.
My daughter downloaded a live messenger thingy bob, and since then ive had problems. Its running really slow and a blank page all the time. I have deleted the messenger thingy (you can see i know little about pc's) but im still having problems. PLEASE CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP!!?

hmmm , well , try 'my computer' - control panel - add or remove programs - remove the 'messenger' that your daughter installed .
Then - all programs - system tools - disk cleanup - delete all temporary files -
Then - all programs - system tools - disk defragmenter - defragment disk -
then - restart - then , hopefully , you'll be okay !
(I knew nothing about pc's when I first got one and everything I've learnt has been through frustrating ' trial and error ' ! )

Sounds like a good plan to me.
Downloading live 'things' to a PC is fraught with difficulties because of all the unseen add-ons. Sure you can delete the application itself easily, but there will be system extensions and other bits and bobs tucked away that eat into your memory and run in the background slowing it down.
Try also resetting your computers internet cache, turning off automatically accepting cookies etc
Don't let your daughter use your laptop...?

You probably need to run a virus scan, or do you have antispyware such as adaware 2007 or spybot search and destroy. useful tools which are downloadable for free
